Currriculum Information

King’s Oak Academy provides a carefully thought-out broad and balanced curriculum that uses the National Curriculum as its basis for all students of whatever level of ability.

Student progress is monitored by staff across the different subject areas.  Parents are regularly invited to discuss their son or daughter’s development and to see their child’s work.  During the course of each academic year all parents receive four reports in which the achievements and the successes of the child are recorded and targets for the future agreed.  Staff seek to involve students actively in their own learning and assessment and to encourage them to recognise their achivements and to be aware of their own potential.

The academy operates a fornightly timetable.  The curriculum plan below shows how the curriculum develops over the years of schooling and gives the number of periods allocated per fortnight to each subject.
